What We Offer

Our Services

Specialist laser cleaning and stone restoration services for heritage buildings, listed structures, and historic stonework across the Cotswolds and surrounding counties.

The Cotswold Laser Cleaning Difference

Precision. Care. Conservation.

Every service we offer is built around a single principle: do no harm. Our laser cleaning technology is the most precise, non-invasive cleaning method available — removing only what doesn't belong, and leaving everything that does completely untouched.

We work on some of the most sensitive historic structures in the Cotswolds. That responsibility shapes everything we do — from the equipment we use to the way we document and report our work.

Specialist Services

01

Laser Stone Cleaning

The safest, most precise method available for cleaning historic stonework. Our laser system removes atmospheric pollution, black crust, and surface grime at a molecular level — without contact, chemicals, or abrasion.

Suitable for: Churches, country houses, civic buildings, monuments

What's Included

  • Atmospheric pollution and black crust removal
  • Limestone, sandstone, and Cotswold stone
  • Carved details, mouldings, and inscriptions
  • No risk of surface erosion or moisture ingress
  • Suitable for Grade I and II listed structures
02

Soot & Fire Damage Removal

Fire damage and smoke staining penetrate deep into porous stone. Our laser removes carbon deposits and soot at a molecular level, restoring original stone colour and character without the risk of further damage.

Suitable for: Listed buildings, churches, historic interiors

What's Included

  • Carbon deposit and soot removal
  • Smoke staining from historic and recent fires
  • Fragile fire-damaged stone treated with care
  • Full photographic documentation throughout
  • Compatible with post-fire structural repair works
03

Graffiti & Paint Removal

Modern spray paint, marker graffiti, and historic paint coatings removed completely from heritage stone — without residual damage to the substrate beneath. Calibrated to the specific paint type and stone.

Suitable for: Public monuments, civic buildings, churchyard walls

What's Included

  • Modern spray paint and marker graffiti
  • Historic limewash and paint coatings
  • Bituminous and tar-based coatings
  • Multiple paint layer removal

Biological Growth Removal

Algae, moss, lichen, and biological crusts actively damage stone over time. We remove biological growth safely and completely, restoring natural stone colour and slowing future recolonisation.

Suitable for: Churchyards, garden walls, estate buildings

What's Included

  • Algae, moss, and lichen removal
  • Biological crust and black staining
  • Churchyard monuments and memorials
  • Retaining walls and boundary features

Listed Building Care

Working on a listed building requires specialist knowledge, sensitivity, and the right permissions. We have extensive experience navigating listed building consent and working with conservation officers.

Suitable for: All listed and scheduled heritage structures

What's Included

  • Grade I and Grade II listed structures
  • Scheduled ancient monuments
  • Conservation area buildings
  • Full documentation for consent records
  • Liaison with heritage architects and conservation officers
06

Stone Conservation & Repair

Where stonework has deteriorated beyond cleaning alone, we coordinate with trusted specialist conservation contractors to consolidate, repair, and stabilise the fabric. We do not carry out this work ourselves, but manage the process and ensure all third-party works meet the same conservation standards we apply to our own.

Suitable for: Deteriorated or structurally compromised heritage stonework

What's Included

  • Referral to vetted conservation contractors
  • Stone consolidation and stabilisation
  • Mortar repointing in conservation lime
  • Crack injection and structural repair
  • Coordination with heritage architects and surveyors

The Technology

Why Laser Cleaning?

Traditional cleaning methods — pressure washing, chemical treatments, abrasive blasting — all carry a risk of damaging the very stone they're meant to clean. Laser cleaning eliminates that risk entirely.

Our handheld laser system delivers a focused beam of light energy directly onto the contaminated surface. The laser ablates grime, soot, and biological growth at a molecular level — leaving the stone beneath completely untouched.

Non-contact

No physical pressure on the stone surface

Chemical-free

No solvents, acids, or cleaning agents

Non-abrasive

Zero risk of surface erosion or scratching

Fully controlled

Adjustable intensity for delicate surfaces
